Perica Viña Olagosa Gran Reserva is the flagship wine from Bodegas Perica, a family-run winery in San Asensio (Rioja Alta) with over a century of history. Made from Tempranillo (90%), Garnacha (5%) y Mazuelo (5%), is made from grapes harvested by hand into crates from the Viña Olagosa vineyard in San Asensio and the Zaco vineyard in Haro.

Following a meticulous selection of the grapes, the wine undergoes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in large French oak vats. Ageing lasts between 28 and 30 months in Bordeaux-style barrels made of French and Eastern European oak, combining new wood with barrels that have been used several times, followed by a minimum of 36 months of bottle ageing before the wine is released onto the market.

The result is a ruby-coloured red wine with a brick-red rim, boasting an intense and complex bouquet with notes of vanilla, tobacco and fine leather – characteristic of its long ageing – alongside subtle hints of liqueur-filled chocolates. On the palate, it is flavourful, with polished tannins and good length. A Gran Reserva in the classic Rioja style, crafted with patience and respect for tradition, and produced in limited quantities.
